Mushrooms of Bear Mountain

Bear Mountain State Park is located on the western shores of the Hudson River in Rockland County, New York.  A variety of mushroom species are found growing among lush carpets of green moss, inside hollowed trees, between lichen-covered rocks, and on fallen logs. Their vivid colors, unusual shapes, and range of textures are an endless source of fascination to those who take a closer look at these beautiful ornaments of the woodland forest.
